Sony Cybershot DSC-T300

Sony Cybershot DSC-T300Continuing the success of the T series range, the new Sony DSCT300 Cyber-shot digital camera is the slim and stylish successor to the DSCT200. With a 3.5 inch LCD touch screen and 5x optical zoom, the T300 now also features 10.1 mega-pixel resolution, Intelligent Scene Recognition and Music Slide Show.

The DSCT300 is available in red, black and silver and weighs 149 grams (without battery).

The Sony DSC- T300 is fashionably slim with an extra large 3.5-in. touch-screen LCD monitor. It features Sony's excellent Super SteadyShot® optical image stabilization which, coupled with High ISO, helps compensate for shaky hands and minimizes blur. Image quality suffers from noise and loss of image detail at all ISOs. Intelligent Scene Recognition automate 5 scene modes. The Sony T300 is an easy-to-use point-and-shoot for the casual photographer who will only print 4x6 in. and display for Web. the biggest difference between the T300 and its predecessor is that the new model is built around a more pixel-dense sensor. The lens range also changes, with the wide end getting a tiny bit wider (though we're not about to hold a street party for a 33mm wide angle camera). This is a side-effect of adding a larger, 1/2.3" sensor in the same position as the old 1/2.5" one.

DP review finds that the extra pixels on the Sony DSC-T300 Cyber-shot are too mushed up by aggressive noise reduction to allow large prints

Photography Bay writes the following conclusion about the Cybershot DSC-T300 "Picture quality does not quite match up to the very best, but if your main consideration is design, as long as the camera can still take a decent snap, then the DSC T300 is well worth considering."

ZDnet believes that the good points of tthe DSC-T300 is" Fast performance; tons of handy image editing and playback features; zoom rocker is in a much more comfortable position." The disadvantages of owning a T300 according to Zdnet are"taht the photos tend to be "soft and noisy".
